Reaction to 'Band Dropped' Story

Thomas Smith

Congratulations to the Feminist Action Committee in their decision to not allow Real Slow Drag to perform during the Women's Mosaic based on the band having two men. They took a chance to show everyone what they are all about and instead confirmed what most people think they are all about: women who hate men. Way to shoot yourself in the foot! You say you disqualified these women because you felt their positions were not prominent? Please! I hate to tell ya, but female musicians are unique these days and you missed an opportunity to encourage other women to pursue a career in a male dominated field. The only women you see in music today (with few exceptions) are doing nothing more than what society has allowed them to do: sing! How many actually play an instrument? Think about Shania, Celine, Mariah, and Whitney, who stand there and sing with the music coming from God-knows-where? And we give them awards and millions of dollars because we like their MUSIC? Excuse these two women, Jen & Care, for actually having talent and then having the audacity to use it how they choose, with two members of the hated enemy.
