News

  • Health care on the electoral brain
When U of R students go to the polls on November 27, the issue on their minds will not be tuition, student loans, or taxes. They want better health care.
  • Maclean's university rankings disappointing for U of R
For yet another year, the University of Regina didn't make the grade for Maclean's yearly university ratings, which has left some students looking for answers.
  • Changing majors common
Not everyone knows what they want to be when they grow up in their first or even second year of university, according to several University of Regina students.
  • New president for Campion
Dr. David Eley will be taking the helm as Campion's president while the current president travels to England on sabbatical.
  • Never too old to learn new tricks
It's never too late to hit the books, which is something the Seniors' Education Centre (SEC) at the University of Regina College Avenue campus helps its students do.

Arts

  • Ron James hits the U of R
Ron James makes a living being funny. But don't tell him that's an easy way to make a living.
  • Face to Face overcoming adversity
California-based Face to Face, currently on the Canadian leg of their tour, played to a full house in the Multipurpose Room at the University of Regina November 1st. They played an inspired set, following excellent performances by Gob, Saves The Day, and local band 2 Cents Worth.
  • A Midsummer Night's Dream was spectacular
The U of R's production of A Midsummer Night's Dream was like nothing I had ever seen. The play was, in a word, phenomenal, and the only drawback is that it will not be featured on a national stage.
  • Zuckerbaby: not your typical boy band
Zuckerbaby, a Calgary-based rock band, is headed to Regina in support of their new release, Platinum Again, which is sure to comprise the majority of the band's set.

Sports

  • Rams advance to Vanier Cup
The University of Regina Rams surprised the nation last weekend by beating the St. Mary's Huskies in the Atlantic Bowl and advancing to the Canadian university football championship game, the Vanier Cup.
  • Students behind Rams
With the Rams' Atlantic Bowl win Saturday, students from the University of Regina have been swept up with school spirit. Fans of the football team have been supportive all year but are slowly becoming more and more frenzied as the Vanier Cup draws closer. There is great pride among the student body as the team continues its dream season in only its second year of existence.
  • Heads up, eyes forward
Sure, NHLers get to play a game for a living, but can they afford to keep playing games with their heads?
