On Dec. 6, 1989, a lone gunman walked into the École Polytechnique at the University of Montreal. The horrific events that followed sent shockwaves through Canada. Shortly after 5 p.m. on the last day of class before the Christmas holidays, Marc Lepine went on a killing spree that lasted 45 minutes and resulted in the death of 14 women.
