Laura Robinson, a former national calibre athlete in cycling and Nordic skiing, has accepted a formidable challenge in attempting to expose and account for the existence of sex crimes and violence in Canadian junior hockey. I'm sitting at my computer, thinking of a way to write this week's Comix. I'm filled with an overwhelming sense of hate, anger and aggression. I've just spent the last hour and a half re-reading the first six issues of Warren Ellis and Darick Robertson's co-created Transmetropolitan. Back in the 80s and early 90s, "pop" was anything you heard on the mainstream radio. It was characterized by treble happy sounds and unobtrusive singing. It was the catchy tunes that skyrocketed many careers in a fleeting moment of flame. In the late 90s, we have moved a considerable distance from what was known as "pop." Although acts like the Spice Girls can still be heard blaring from cars, the music you hear on Z99 is a lot more varied than it was before.
