Consuming the blue green orange
by Christine Povey
the Carillon
If there is one thing I Mother Earth wants the fans to get out of a concert, it is to come back and tell their friends about it.
After their concert this past Monday, it is evident they have definitely done their work.

Finger Eleven content with new direction
by Scott Turgeon
the Carillon
When the Canadian rock group Finger Eleven hit the stage in Regina September 28th (opening for I Mother Earth), it was hard to believe that the band members the Carillon spoke to just four hours earlier were the same people thrashing through the 40 minute set.
At the show, the visual and musical performance that is Finger Eleven takes over but up close and personal, they are calm, quiet and happy people.

Dance for body and soul
By Tanya Birkbeck
the Carillon
It's hard to say what is most striking about Ruth Cansfield - her tiny, perfectly toned body, long hair and doe eyes, or her intense personality, artistic flair, and obvious intelligence. This Winnipeg choreographer seems to embrace the essence of her dance in herself - both she and her choreography are physically and emotionally charged.
Cansfield's distinctive style of dance blends elements of ballet and modern dance together to create a routine that is stimulating to the eye and mind.

The spirit comes alive
By Sheri Block
the Carillon
The most natural thing in the world for Natalie MacMaster is playing the fiddle - something that she believes is rooted inside of her.
"It must be just in me, it must be part of me because it's like walking or anything, it's just such a natural thing to continue on doing," she comments. "I've never, ever once thought of quitting. It wasn't even an option.

Energy renewed for DDT
by Jolene Erhardt
the Carillon
It's DDT's seventh tour since they first came together in 1994, but the life and energy that exudes from the band is still as fresh as ever.
This is maybe because the band sees this tour and album as a closing chapter in their lives. Their energy is renewed and they are looking towards the future.

Bloodwurm: A crime wave, not a band
by Cabral Rock
the Carillon
Upon arriving at Riley's Tavern on Thursday night, I have to admit to being unsure how this interview would turn out. After all, Bloodwurm's last album Cold Dead Stare went to number one. At the Kingston Federal Penitentiary.
This is where lead singer Vince had the honour of being an inmate. Combine that with the fact that Vince is known in his home town as "The Toronto Vampire"... well, you get the point.
Vince was in the van, "preparing" for the evening's performance. I sat down to enjoy a few with Fred (Bass), Dee (Guitar), and Jorge (Drums). (Dee comes to the group from Bongwater 666, while Dee hails from The Oklahoma Bomb Squad, for those of you keeping track.)
