It is impossible to describe Choke without first presenting the forward of their album. Placed on the cover, it is the perfect introduction to the story that unfolds throughout the music and lyrics.
Choke is Jack Jaggard (guitar, vocals), Shawn Moncrieff (vocals, guitar), Stephan Levasseur (drums), and Clay Shea (bass). They are a group of friends following their hometown heroes, SNFU, and fulfilling their dreams.

D'Arcy Jenish shares another point of view with new book
By Cara Bentley
the Carillon
As a young boy growing up near Estevan, Saskatchewan, D'Arcy Jenish loved to play on the unbroken sod near his home. Often, he would find the remains of teepee rings. This, along with a "desire to write a Canadian historical" led him to write his most recent book, Indian Fall: the Last Great Days of the Plains Cree and Blackfoot Confederacy.
"It was really just the extraordinary lives that they lived that drew me to this."
Jenish resides in Ajax, Ontario with his wife, who is a teacher and his three children, ages 6, 12, and 14. For the past thirteen years, he has been a journalist with Maclean's magazine.

Cooking made easy for the time (and money) constrained student
By Christine Hanson
the Carillon
So, I admit I was a little apprehensive about doing a review of a cookbook. I mean, it's hard to blame the outcome of a dish on the recipe. And what can you critique about it? The photos? The lack of recipes with chocolate? The way the book doesn't lay flat and causes you to get food all over it?!
Well, Life's On Fire - Cooking For The Rushed has none of these problems. It solves the pain of grocery shipping by putting grocery lists in the back of the book. And you can rip them out (great for those of you who just can't seem to make grocery lists and come home to find - that you now have three cantaloupes), although most people photocopy the list and put them in the back pocket of the book's cover.

This week saw the end of the Wheel of Life project in Regina. For those who got to see it being made, it may have changed the way they saw the world, at least for a moment.
The project consists mainly of the construction of a sand mandala in the Dunlop Art Gallery.
