"I like people to feel safe when they are around me. I like having my friends close to me. I learned that at Notre Dame. "Notre | Dame prepared me for all aspects of life. Being there and being from there, you know how to handle it. "You are told what to do, when to do it. You step out of line and maybe someone that's only a year older than you gives you a cuff in the head and tells you, ŒDon't do that'. Getting reprimanded by your peers is very different. It was shocking, but, I knew how to deal with it." You are likely to find Haider, at a live band or cruising the aisles of a record store. Haider is not a big fan of professional sports, or of television. Haider has a great attitude, and sense of humor, "whatever happens, happens." She is not easily disappointed. On her current team, she has 11 points in 12 games and is fifth on | the team in scoring with 4 games remaining in the schedule. "I don't feel any pressure. I am enjoying myself. If you feel pressure, you don't enjoy yourself. I think," She says. Haider's play is appreciated by most of her teammates. "Bree and I find each other out there on the ice, and now we have Dallas on our line too," said teammate West. Coach Weist feels Haider is one of the teams best scorers. "Bree plays well when she plays aggressively, that's when she's best," he says. Haider also added these words of encouragement to her teammates, and the coaches regarding the teams fate of not being in the CIAU. "Nobody had us in their plans. I am just trying to stay dedicated and attend practices, meetings, that sort of thing. Nobody knew that this was going to happen, it's hard to make commitments."" |
