    Federal finance minister Paul Martin attended a luncheon for young Liberals, held at the University club at the University of Regina on March 6th. The minister was visiting the Queen city to speak at a Saskatchewan Association of Rural Municipalities conference and meet with the young Liberals.

  • BFA grads put their wares on display
    On the evening of Thursday, March 7th, the U of R Department of Visual Arts unveiled "Voices From Curious Lands," a Bachelor of Fine Arts Graduating Exhibition at the Mackenzie Art Gallery that showcased the paintings of five grads: Sonia Agarwal, Tristan Gieni, Nina Granger, Erin Joel, and Tanya Rogoschewsky. In an impressive and eclectic mix of student artwork, the show truly represented a milestone achievement for each of the young artists.

    It was announced last week that, after a season in which the women's volleyball team went 0-20 in conference play, Head Coach Miles Kyddıs contract would not be renewed.

  • Lady Cougs lose national title
    The defending national champions had a disappointing showing at the 2002 Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS) National Basketball Championships last weekend, held at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario. The Lady Cougs ended up finishing fourth after losing in Saturdayıs bronze medal game to their familiar foes, the Winnipeg Wesmen, by a score of 64-47.

  • Men's soccer club wants some CIS action
    Soccer fans at the University of Regina may have noticed that there is an absence of a men's soccer team on campus. A group of male soccer enthusiasts have banded together to change this.
